Dromedary Adventure, Traditional Wineries & Huacachina Oasis
The Dromedary, Wineries, and Huacachina tour is perhaps the most exotic and diverse Peru travel experience you can find on the southern coast. While most travelers associate Peru tours with the history of Cusco and Machu Picchu, the Ica desert hides a secret that feels more like the Sahara: the chance to ride majestic dromedaries across rolling golden dunes.
This full-day journey takes you through the heart of Ica’s culture. You will start by exploring the ancestral traditions of Pisco and wine production, followed by a serene and royal ride on a dromedary, and ending with the classic sunset over the Huacachina Oasis. It is a perfect itinerary for those who want to blend luxury, tradition, and a touch of desert mystery in one of the best tours in Peru.

Full Day
ITINERARY
09:30 AM – Vineyard Immersion
Our day begins with a visit to one of Ica's most prestigious traditional wineries (such as El Catador or Vista Alegre). You will walk through the vineyards and enter the "bodega" to see the "botijas" (clay jars) where Pisco is fermented. An expert sommelier will guide you through a tasting session of various Piscos and sweet wines, explaining the history behind each bottle.
12:30 PM – Lunch
We take a break to enjoy a delicious regional lunch. You’ll have the chance to try local delicacies like Carapulcra or Arroz con Pato, perfectly paired with the wines of the valley.
02:30 PM – The Dromedary Experience
We head to the desert ranch where the dromedaries live. These animals are perfectly adapted to the Ica climate. After a brief safety talk, you will embark on a 30-minute ride across the dunes. The slow, rhythmic pace of the dromedary allows you to appreciate the vastness of the desert in a way that high-speed buggies cannot match. It’s an elegant and serene encounter with nature.
04:30 PM – Huacachina Oasis and Sunset
We arrive at the world-famous Huacachina Oasis. You’ll have time to walk around the lagoon, browse local crafts, and then—if you choose—take a buggy ride to the highest dunes to watch the sunset paint the sand in shades of purple and orange.
06:30 PM – End of the Tour
We return you to your hotel in Ica or Huacachina, concluding a day of luxury and adventure.
