Our journey begins with a comfortable pick up from your hotel in Lima as we head south toward the spectacular Huacachina Oasis. This unique destination is a natural paradise surrounded by towering golden dunes in the heart of the Ica desert. Upon arrival you will be amazed by the tranquil green lagoon contrasting with the vast desert landscape.
Later we will embark on a high energy adventure as we explore the dunes in professional dune buggies and practice sandboarding. The aircraft performs specific maneuvers so everyone can see the geoglyphs clearly, which can cause mild motion sickness. We recommend having a very light breakfast and staying hydrated. The Peruvian coast is beautiful year-round. Summer (December to March) is perfect for sunny desert days in Huacachina. Regarding wildlife, the "Little Galapagos" (Ballestas Islands) offer great sightings of sea lions and Humboldt penguins every day, though mornings can be breezy and cool.
Layered clothing is key. A windbreaker is necessary for the boat tour to the Ballestas Islands. For the desert and flight, bring lightweight clothes, high-SPF sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat. Most importantly, you must bring your original passport to board the Nazca Lines flight.
