Taquile is world renowned for its exquisite textile art which is proudly recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Unlike the floating Uros it is a solid land island with deep rooted Quechua traditions famous for its highly skilled male weavers and its breathtaking panoramic views of the lake.
The hike is considered moderate. It requires climbing original stone steps at a high altitude. We highly recommend walking at a slow and steady pace wearing comfortable trekking shoes and staying very well hydrated so you can fully enjoy the magnificent landscape without feeling fatigued.
Yes our full day experience includes a delicious traditional lunch on Taquile Island. You will be able to taste a highly nutritious quinoa soup and fresh locally caught trout all prepared with great care by the local community.
