ITINERARY

Day 1: Welcome to the Jungle

We will pick you up from Puerto Maldonado Airport (please ensure your flight arrives before 1:00 PM). From there, we transfer to the port and board a motorized canoe to travel up the Tambopata River. During the ride, you will witness the transition from inhabited areas to the virgin jungle while enjoying a box lunch on board.

Upon arrival at the Eco Lodge, you will receive a welcome drink and meet the staff. In the afternoon, we will take an introductory walk along the "Terra Firme" trails, home to majestic Brazil Nut and Dipteryx trees. Keep your eyes peeled for saddle-back tamarins, brown capuchin monkeys, agoutis, blue morpho butterflies, trogons, and toucans.

After dinner, we embark on a Night Walk to observe the jungle’s nocturnal life. Using flashlights, we will spot insects and night animals, which make up 50% of the rainforest's wildlife.

Day 2: Lake Condenado & Giant Otters

After an early breakfast, we take a short boat ride and hike to the Condenado Lake system. We will explore this area by foot and paddle canoe. This lake is rich in birdlife and aquatic fauna, and it is home to a family of Giant River Otters that are frequently sighted.

You might spot rufescent tiger herons, great egrets, wattled jacanas, the prehistoric Hoatzin, and noisy donacobius. Tip: Bring a hat and sunscreen as there is no shade on the water.

After lunch at the lodge, you can choose to explore the nearby forest with your guide or simply relax and take a refreshing dip in the Gallucunca, a crystal-clear stream next to the lodge.

Day 3: Hidden Lakes & The Kings of the Jungle

Today we journey deeper. After breakfast, a boat ride takes us to a trail leading to a hidden lake. The hike traverses crystal-clear streams and swampy terrain, surrounded by the majestic Lupuna trees, known as the "Kings of the Jungle." These giant trees create an imposing backdrop for an unforgettable trek.

At the hidden lake, we will search for the enigmatic Black Caiman and more Giant Otters, true treasures of the Amazon. We return to the lodge for lunch and a restful afternoon. You can relax in a hammock listening to the sounds of the jungle or swim in the stream to end the day in perfect harmony with nature.

Day 4: Farewell to the Amazon

We start with a delicious breakfast. Depending on your flight time, we may have a final morning activity to observe wildlife, which is particularly active at this hour—often accompanied by the roar of Howler Monkeys.

At the scheduled time, we will transfer you back to Puerto Maldonado Airport for your return flight, hoping that your experience with us has been unforgettable. (Recommended flight departure: Around 12:00 PM or later).
