High in the Peruvian Andes rests a sacred mirror of water shining like a jewel between mountains and endless skies: Lake Titicaca (3,812 m / 12,507 ft). Considered the highest navigable lake in the world, its blue waters blend with the living traditions of the communities that inhabit it, creating a unique cultural and natural landscape.
No photograph can capture the grandeur of this millenary lake. With our Lake Titicaca Tour, you will navigate between the Uros Floating Islands and discover Taquile Island. It is an unforgettable experience connecting nature with the living history of the Andes.
In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in Puno to begin our adventure on Lake Titicaca. We head to the Puno port to board a comfortable motorboat taking us to our first destination: the Uros Floating Islands.
These islands are unique, built entirely from totora reeds growing in the lake. Upon arrival, the locals will welcome you warmly, sharing how they build their islands, houses, and boats, and explaining their daily life. You can walk on the floating island and optionally take a ride on a traditional reed raft.
Next, we continue navigating to Taquile Island, a beautiful and peaceful place known for its landscapes and people who maintain ancient customs. Upon arrival, we will hike for about 45 minutes along paths with stunning views.
From the top of the island, we will see the entire lake and take incredible photos before reaching the village to share a typical lunch prepared by a local family. We will eat dishes made with local ingredients like quinoa, trout, and Andean potatoes.
After lunch, we visit a textile workshop where locals demonstrate how they weave their colorful clothing by hand—art recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Finally, we return by boat to the port of Puno, enjoying the sunset over the lake, and transfer you back to your hotel.

The difficulty is moderate due to the high altitude. Although the trails are steep, the ascent is done at a very leisurely pace so you can enjoy the stunning views of the lake and learn about the local textiles. We highly recommend spending at least one day acclimatizing in Puno beforehand.
The return to the port of Puno is usually between 4:30 PM and 5:00 PM. This is the ideal time to head back to your hotel before the temperature drops drastically after sunset.
Yes! Our tour includes a traditional lunch at a local home, where you can taste the famous quinoa soup and fresh lake trout, all while enjoying one of the best panoramic views of the Altiplano.
The sun on the lake is very strong, but the air is cold. We highly recommend dressing in layers, wearing sunscreen and a hat, and bringing a warm jacket for the boat ride back in the afternoon.
