High in the Peruvian Andes lies the majestic Lake Titicaca (3,812 m / 12,507 ft). Its endless blue waters, surrounded by mountains and ancient traditions, make this destination unique in the world. Among its most valuable secrets are the Uros Floating Islands, built with totora reeds, and the magical Amantani Island, where the warmth of its people turns every visit into an unforgettable experience.
No description is enough to reflect the grandeur of the highest navigable lake on the planet. That is why living this journey is essential during your trip to Peru. With our 2-Day Lake Titicaca Tour, you will have the opportunity to venture into its waters, discover its living cultures, and feel the tranquility of a place that seems frozen in time, spending a night with a local family.
Very early in the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in Puno and take you to the port to begin the adventure on Lake Titicaca.
We will take a boat to visit the Uros Floating Islands. These islands are made entirely of totora, a plant that grows in the lake. The inhabitants will show you how they live, how they build their houses, and share their stories.
Next, we will navigate for about 2.5 hours to Amantani Island. It is a peaceful and very special place where you will be welcomed by a local family who will host you in their home. You will share a typical lunch prepared with fresh island products.
In the afternoon, you can hike to the top of the island to visit the ancient temples of Pachatata or Pachamama. From there, you will see an incredible sunset over the lake—a truly magical moment. At night, enjoy a homemade dinner with your host family. If you wish, you can join a small gathering with traditional music and dance alongside other travelers and islanders.
After a quiet night in Amantani, you will start the day with a breakfast prepared by your host family using local products. After saying goodbye, we will take the boat to Taquile Island, famous for its landscapes and the textile art of its people (recognized by UNESCO). Upon arrival, we will hike for about 45 minutes along nature trails.
In the village, you will learn about the Taquileños' way of life. Before returning, you will have lunch at a local restaurant with a view of the lake, tasting dishes like fresh trout and quinoa soup.
Finally, we return by boat to Puno, transferring you back to your hotel with unforgettable memories.

It is an authentic and rustic experience. You will stay in the home of a local family. The rooms are clean and cozy, provided with heavy blankets for the cold nights. There are no luxury hotels on the island, which makes the cultural connection genuine and profound.
All meals (lunch, dinner, and breakfast) are included and prepared by the local families using regional ingredients such as quinoa, native potatoes, cheese, and fava beans. It is a healthy, organic diet that is perfect for the high altitude.
Electricity is very limited and usually comes from solar panels, so we highly recommend bringing your devices and power banks fully charged. Internet access is scarce, which invites you to completely disconnect and enjoy the spectacular starry skies of the Altiplano.
It is not mandatory, but it is a highly appreciated gesture. We recommend bringing useful items such as school supplies for the children, fresh fruit, or cooking oil, as these products are difficult to obtain on the islands.
The host families organize a small peña or traditional party where they invite you to dress in traditional clothing and dance to the rhythm of local Andean music. It is a fun and truly unforgettable moment of cultural exchange.
