Upon your arrival, an Aura Andina representative will welcome you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel in the best area of Lima.
Explore the 'City of Kings'. We visit the Plaza San Martín, Plaza Mayor, the Cathedral, and the San Francisco Monastery with its famous catacombs. We end at the Santo Domingo Church before returning to the hotel.
Flight to the Amazon. Navigate the Tambopata River to your lodge. Welcome drink and introductory walk through the rainforest to spot monkeys, toucans, and other wildlife. Night walk to see nocturnal creatures.

Today we begin our tour of the "City of Kings," learning about its history and evolution from pre-Hispanic times to the present day. We will explore iconic buildings such as the Gran Hotel Bolívar and the historic Plaza San Martín, continuing through the streets to the Plaza Mayor, home to the Government Palace, the Archbishop's Palace, and the Lima Cathedral. Later, we visit the San Francisco Monastery, distinguished by its baroque architecture and mysterious catacombs. Our final stop is the Santo Domingo Church, one of the city’s most important temples with a rich artistic and religious history linked to the Dominican Order. After this enriching tour, we will take you back to your hotel to rest and recharge for our next adventures.

Today we will pick you up from your hotel to transfer you to the airport for your flight to Puerto Maldonado. It is important that your flight is in the morning and arrives before 1:00 PM, as we will be waiting at the airport to take you to the lodge. The journey will be by canoe along the Tambopata River, where you can observe the transition from colonized and deforested areas to the virgin jungle. A box lunch will be provided on board. Upon arrival at the lodge, you will receive a welcome drink and meet the staff. In the afternoon, you will take an introductory walk through the "terra firma" forest (trail 2), dominated by majestic Brazil nut and Dipteryx trees. On this route, it is common to spot saddle-back tamarins, brown capuchins, agoutis, pacas, blue morpho butterflies, trogons, toucans, and many other birds. After dinner, you will enjoy a night walk to observe wildlife in its natural environment. Thanks to the reflection of light in their eyes, it is possible to spot insects and nocturnal animals, which represent about 50% of the rainforest's life.

After an early breakfast, you and your nature guide will board the motorized canoe again for a short ride to the trailhead. From there, you will begin a morning of exploration on foot and by paddle canoe through the Lake Condenado system, a place rich in bird and aquatic life. A family of giant river otters lives in the vicinity of the lake and is frequently seen. Among the birds you may observe are the rufescent tiger heron, the great egret, wattled jacanas, the hoatzin, and the noisy black-capped donacobius, among many other species. It is recommended to bring a hat and sunscreen, as there is no shade on the water. At noon, your guide will arrange lunch. In the afternoon, you will have the option to explore the nearby forest (accompanied by your guide or on your own) or simply relax and cool off in the Gallucunca, a crystal-clear stream next to the lodge.

From there, a fascinating hike begins that will lead us to a hidden lake in the middle of the jungle, crossing crystal-clear streams and marshy terrain, surrounded by majestic Lupuna trees (Kapok), known as the "Kings of the Jungle." These giant trees create an imposing setting that makes this journey an unforgettable experience. Today, like the other days, we will start with a delicious breakfast, followed by our morning activities. We will say goodbye to the Peruvian jungle before transferring you to the Puerto Maldonado airport for your flight to your next adventure (please try to schedule your flight leaving around noon). Our gastronomic experience starts from your hotel (we recommend a light breakfast so you can enjoy all the tastings). After breakfast, we will pick you up to take you to Barranco, one of Lima's most picturesque neighborhoods. There, an expert guide will introduce you to the history of this area, famous for its artistic heritage, colonial mansions, and colorful urban murals. Our first stop will be a traditional Barranco tavern, where you will learn to prepare Pisco Sour, the emblematic Peruvian cocktail. Then, you will enjoy an interactive cooking class guided by local chefs, where you will prepare and taste two of the country's most iconic dishes: Ceviche and Lomo Saltado. There, we will board a boat to the Ballestas Islands, a marine sanctuary home to sea lions, Humboldt penguins, and birds that color the sky. During the journey, we will also admire the enigmatic Candelabra, a geoglyph traced in the desert sand whose origin remains a mystery. The tour lasts approximately two hours. Upon return, you will have some free time on the El Chaco boardwalk before continuing to the charming Huacachina Oasis, surrounded by majestic dunes. A wonder that can only be appreciated in its full magnitude from the sky. Then, we will continue with a 2-hour drive to Ica, a land of sun, vineyards, and traditions. We will pick you up from your hotel in Arequipa to begin the journey to the Colca Canyon. Along the way, we will cross beautiful landscapes and make a stop at the Pampa Cañahuas Reserve, where you can see vicuñas and llamas in their natural habitat. Then, in Patahuasi, we will take a brief pause to enjoy the scenery and drink a mate or tea to help adapt to the altitude. We will continue to the Pampa de Tocra, a place full of vegetation and Andean birds. Afterward, we arrive at Patapampa, the highest point of the trip, from where you will see the Misti, Chachani, and Ampato volcanoes. Upon arrival in Chivay, we will enjoy a delicious lunch, and you will have time to rest. Here you can see the Andean Condor fly, the largest bird on the continent and a sacred symbol in the Andes. If you wish, you can take a short walk to further enjoy the canyon landscape. Then, we will visit the town of Yanque, known for its charming square and colonial-style church. We continue the tour through places full of history and unique landscapes such as Pinchollo, and the Wayrapunko and Antahuilque viewpoints, where you will see ancient terraces, natural lagoons, and hanging tombs—remains of ancient pre-Hispanic cultures. Very early in the morning, we will pick you up at your hotel in Puno and take you to the port to begin the adventure on Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world. We will take a boat to visit the Uros Floating Islands. These islands are made entirely of totora, a reed that grows in the lake. There, the inhabitants will show you how they live, how they build their houses, and share their stories. Afterward, we will navigate for about two and a half hours to reach Amantani Island. It is a quiet and very special place, where you will be welcomed by a local family who will host you in their home. You will share a typical lunch prepared with fresh local products. In the afternoon, if you wish, you can hike to the top of the island to visit the ancient temples of Pachatata or Pachamama. From there, you will see an incredible sunset over the lake—a truly magical moment. At nightfall, you will enjoy a homemade dinner with your host family. If you are up for it, you can participate in a small gathering with traditional music and dance, together with other travelers and island inhabitants. You will sleep in a simple house, surrounded by peace and nature.

After a peaceful night in Amantani, you will start the day with a breakfast prepared by your host family using local products. We will then say goodbye to them to continue our tour, taking the boat to Taquile Island, famous for its landscapes and the craftsmanship of its people. Upon arrival, we will walk for about 45 minutes along trails surrounded by nature. In the village, you will learn about the Taquileño way of life, especially their textile art, recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Before returning, you will have lunch at a local restaurant with a view of the lake. You can try typical dishes such as fresh trout and quinoa soup. Then, we will return by boat to Puno, where we will transfer you to your hotel to rest before your next adventure.
Note: Taquile requires a steep walk with steps; the altitude varies between 3,650 and 3,950 m.a.s.l., so caution is recommended.

Our journey through the Andes begins in Puno, departing towards the heart of the ancient Inca Empire. Today will be our second day visiting the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Depending on your Machu Picchu ticket time, your guide will pick you up to take the Consettur bus to the entrance gate (approx. 25 min). After the guided tour, you will have some free time to take photos before taking the bus back down to Aguas Calientes for lunch.
