ITINERARY

Day 1: Journey to the Colca Canyon

We will pick you up from your hotel in Arequipa to begin our journey towards the Colca Canyon. Along the way, we will cross beautiful landscapes and stop at the Pampa Cañahuas Reserve, where you can see vicuñas and llamas in their natural habitat. Then, at Patahuasi, we will take a short break to enjoy the scenery and drink a mate or tea to help you adapt to the altitude.

We continue towards Pampa de Tocra, a place full of vegetation and Andean birds. Afterward, we reach Patapampa, the highest point of the trip (4,910 m), from where you will see the majestic Misti, Chachani, and Ampato volcanoes.

Upon arrival in Chivay, we will enjoy a delicious lunch, and you will have time to rest. In the afternoon, you can relax in the La Calera Hot Springs, surrounded by mountains, and visit the local museum to learn more about the history of the valley. We end the day with a visit to the Chivay craft market before settling into a comfortable hotel for the night.

Day 2: Flight of the Condor & Return to Arequipa

We start the day very early to visit the Cruz del Cóndor Viewpoint, one of the most incredible spots on the trip. Here, you will see the Andean Condor fly—the largest flying bird on the continent and a sacred symbol in the Andes. You can also take a short walk along the canyon rim to fully appreciate the landscape.

Then, we will visit the village of Yanque, known for its charming square and colonial-style church. We continue exploring historic places like Pinchollo and the viewpoints of Wayrapunko and Antahuilque, where you will see ancient terraces, natural lagoons, and hanging tombs—remnants of pre-Hispanic cultures.

We also pass through the town of Maca, famous for its church and traditional atmosphere. Upon returning to Chivay, we will enjoy a typical lunch before starting our return journey to Arequipa, arriving with unforgettable memories of this unique experience.
