Explore the White City of Arequipa

Arequipa, known as the "White City," dazzles visitors with its buildings made of sillar (white volcanic stone), an imposing volcano watching from above, and streets that breathe tradition and charm. Every corner holds a story dating back to colonial times, making it a magical destination.

No photograph can capture the true splendor of Arequipa. On this City Tour, you will visit plazas, temples, viewpoints, and convents, discover the impressive Santa Catalina Monastery—a city within a city—and admire the grandeur of the Misti Volcano in the background.

Full Tour Itinerary

Our tour of the enchanting "White City" begins at your hotel. We will first head to the district of Carmen Alto, a picturesque town offering a spectacular panoramic view of the city and its green countryside (chilina valley). It is the perfect spot to take unforgettable photos.

We continue to the famous Yanahuara Viewpoint, where elegant stone arches frame an impressive view of the volcanoes surrounding Arequipa (Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu). Steps away is the Yanahuara Plaza, with its charming streets and ancient church.

The adventure continues through the "Callejón de la Casa Encantada" and the traditional "Callejón Toledo," beloved by artists for its authentic atmosphere.

Our next stop is the iconic Cathedral of Arequipa in the Plaza de Armas. Built in the 17th century with volcanic stone, its imposing presence makes it a must-visit.

Then, we enter the Santa Catalina Monastery, a true citadel within the city. This cloistered convent, closed to the public for centuries, is now one of Arequipa's most fascinating tourist sites due to its architecture, history, and colorful streets.

We continue to the Church of the Company of Jesus (La Compañía), a jewel of Baroque style, home to the famous San Ignacio Chapel, known as the "Sistine Chapel of Arequipa" for its detailed murals.

Finally, we visit the Claustros de la Compañía, a peaceful space now housing craft shops and cafes, perfect for relaxing before ending the tour.
